$2,000 Grant - Allegheny Mountain Institute is a rather unique educational program for college-age adults seeking careers in and around permaculture. AMI’s latest initiative is a joint venture with a local hospital to address the rise in diabetes.
$2,000 Grant - The Boys & Girls Club has had great success with their summer camp program. Their attendees, typically elementary and middle school-age children, are generally at-risk students who are susceptible to high degrees of summer-learning loss (academic back slide).
$3,000 Grant - GRASP (Great Aspirations), does great work in the Staunton region to help high school students apply for college and find scholarships for tuition.
$5,000 Grant - Valley Alliance for Education is one of the few places to which teachers in the Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County public schools can turn for support to launch innovative new classroom programs.
$5,000 Grant - Creative Works Farm Creative operates Camp LIGHT, a summer camp for children with special needs and at risk youth.
